Thai Rama and Thai Rama Chandler restaurantes are some of the original Thai Restaurant in the valley. They have been open for nearly 30 years. Kanniagar or P’Add, the owner of Thai Rama Chandler open their door in 2004 however, the original Thai Rama restaurant at Camelback and 13th avenue has been in business since the 1980’s. P’Add’s sister, Nantiya, took over ownership in 1992. Neither one of them had much experice running a restuant. P’Add original went to school to become a hair dresser and had been working at Honeywell for the past 13 years. She however, loved to cook for family and friends so naturally became the cook while her sister ran the business. It was a difficult transition but with a little luck and a lot of hard work they continued to grow the restaurant. P’Add took a small break from the restaurant and moved to Oregon in 1998 but, returned to Phoenix in 2004 when her and her sister bought their second restaurant, Thai Rama Chandler which they continue to run to this day.
